About Us
Our Story
The TeaPod’s founder, Thérèse Coyne, has been a vegetarian since her teens and a crêpe and waffle fan for even longer. Growing up, pancakes were a family favourite for celebrations, unexpected guests, quick meals and midnight munchies. Thérèse was taught to make pancakes by her mother and soon became a dab hand at the quick pour, twist and flip!

Thérèse had a successful business career that took her around the world, sampling pancakes, crêpes and waffles. She also took lots of holidays in the French mountains where crêpes are king and the US where waffles were often the best thing on the menu for a vegetarian. Looking for a new venture and frustrated by event catering focused on coffee and limited veggie or vegan options, she decided to provide an alternative and The TeaPod was born.
Many people helped the TeaPod get started. Special thanks to the following: John & Frances, Veronica & Lester, John & Jane, The K Families, Mary & Nora, Lucilla, Lesley & Daisy, Angela, Danielle, Tara and Craig.
The TeaPod’s HQ is in a thatched cottage in Cambridgeshire. Conscious of her carbon footprint, Thérèse has forged links with local East Anglian and Essex-based specialists to bring you her delicious food and drink, served from a modern catering trailer that was inspired by her cottage and its garden.
The Old Butchers Coffee + Shop
Balsham’s former butchers shop has been at the centre of village life for more than 300 years - now it is a lovely café and shop.
Holly Venn & her team provide great coffee and use tasty local produce to make sandwiches, cakes and smoothies and serve ice cream! The wide pavement outside lends itself to kerbside seating and makes it a popular spot for cyclists and horse riders. The shop also sells a great selection of perfectly-formed gifts.
Its location, a few yards from the TeaPod's base means it is ideally positioned to provide dairy items & juices and we plan to regularly team up for events!

Balsham Post Office & General Stores
So much more than a Post Office! Helen, Lynn, Joe, Rob and Holly work with a support team to supply (and deliver) all sorts of goodies to Balsham residents and the neighbouring villages. They go above and beyond and give so much to the community we would be truly lost without them!
They have a great choice of seasonal, farm-fresh fruit and vegetables delivered daily by local suppliers and it is a really short walk to collect many of the fresh toppings we use in our crêpes and on our waffles!

Stella designed the TeaPod brand, created a stunning look and feel for the livery and a really nice logo. She had a clear vision of what would work, not only on the trailer but also for the website, social media, uniforms, merchandise and other branding.

Pancake World
Established in 2013 & created by Frenchman Loic Moinon, the business has trained over 300 companies worldwide including the TeaPod team.
He helped us to choose the right equipment, mixes and supplies and provided an excellent 'hands on' course in the craft of crêpe & waffle making!
This partnership enables the TeaPod to be able to offer gluten free & vegan waffles and vegetarian crêpes & milkshakes. With a warehouse in Essex, working with Pancake World helps us keep our carbon footprint low too!

Alpha Signs
Established in 1984, Alpha Signs has been designing, manufacturing and installing signage and wrapping vehicles across the UK and South West for over 30 years.
Ollie came highly recommended and as the trailer was purchased in Somerset, where Alpha Signs is based, they were the ideal choice for the TeaPod trailer wrapping. They did a really fast, professional job working closely with our graphic designer. Ollie went above and beyond to make sure our trailer was ready to roll looking the part!
